Brimlight

Terms

Last updated 22 October 2026

The short version. Buy it once, use it on your own Macs for as long as you like. Don't resell or share your key. Brimlight is a small app made by one person and comes as it is. You stay in charge of what you approve in Claude Code. Nothing here takes away rights your local consumer law gives you.

1. Who these terms are with

Brimlight is made by Gjin Prelvukaj, an independent developer in Kosovo ("I", "me"). These terms apply to the Brimlight app and to this website. By joining the waitlist, downloading, or using Brimlight, you agree to them. Contact: [email protected].

2. Buying Brimlight

Brimlight is sold through Paddle, the merchant of record (Paddle.com Market Limited; Paddle.com Inc. for buyers in the US; Paddle.com (Canada) Ltd for buyers in Canada). Paddle is the seller you pay, handles tax and invoices, and its buyer terms apply to the purchase itself. These terms cover the licence and the app. If they conflict with Paddle's buyer terms about the purchase, Paddle's terms win.

The price is shown before you pay. It is a one-time payment, not a subscription.

3. Trial

You can try Brimlight free for 14 days with every feature. After that, it asks for a licence key.

4. Your licence

When you buy Brimlight, or receive a free key, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it on Macs you own or control, for as long as you like. Your key keeps working without an internet connection and is not tied to one Mac.

Brimlight stays my property; you are buying a licence to use it, not the software itself. Updates I release for the major version you have (for example 1.x) are included. A later major version may be a paid upgrade; your key keeps working with the version you have. Updates may change or remove features, at no extra cost to you. "Lifetime" means your licence never expires: it covers the major version you have and its updates, for as long as you use it.

5. The first 100 free licences

The first 100 people who join the waitlist get a free lifetime licence, with the same rights as a paid one. One per person. Spots are counted in the order sign-ups reach the list. I may skip sign-ups that look automated, fake or duplicated, so the spots go to real people. Keys are sent by email to the address you joined with when Brimlight launches. "Lifetime" means the licence never expires and never needs a payment. Like a paid licence, it does not include a future paid major version, and it is not a promise that Brimlight will be sold or updated forever. The free licence has no cash value and can't be transferred. If I can't reach you at that email within 90 days of launch, the spot may pass to the next person on the list. Void where prohibited.

6. Claude Code and other apps

Brimlight shows information from other apps and services, such as Claude Code, Codex, Music, Spotify and your calendar, and lets you answer Claude Code's permission requests and questions from the notch.

7. macOS

Brimlight needs macOS 26 or later on an Apple silicon Mac. It uses some macOS features that Apple does not officially document, so a macOS update can break part of it. I will try to fix such problems quickly, but I cannot promise every feature will keep working on every future version of macOS.

8. No warranty

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights if Brimlight is faulty or not as described (for example under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the EU rules on digital content). Nothing in this section affects them. Apart from those rights, and to the extent the law allows, Brimlight is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Use your own judgement, and keep backups of anything important, such as notes you write in it.

9. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or work, arising from your use of Brimlight. My total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Brimlight (or US$15 if you received it free).

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, intent or gross negligence, damage to your device or other digital content caused by Brimlight that I must compensate under consumer law, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law. Nothing takes away the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.

10. Ending the licence

If you seriously break these terms, for example by publishing or reselling keys, I may block that key in a future update. A key may also end if its payment is refunded or charged back. If a key is published or leaked, I may block it and send its owner a new one. You can stop using Brimlight at any time by deleting it.

11. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms. The current version is always on this page with its date. Changes apply from the date shown, never to a purchase already made without your agreement, and do not take away a licence you already have.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kosovo. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you may bring a claim in your local courts. For business users, the courts of Prishtina, Kosovo have exclusive jurisdiction.

13. The rest

I may transfer these terms and Brimlight to a company or person who takes it over; your rights stay the same. You may not transfer your licence. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms, with Paddle's buyer terms for the purchase, are the whole agreement about Brimlight. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not use Brimlight where export or sanctions law forbids it.
